Classroom Lessons and Small Groups
CLASSROOM GUIDANCE LESSONS
Classroom lessons occur once a month in K-5 classrooms. The lessons focus on various topics aligned with the researched-based SEL Second Step Program. Some topics range from social skills, conflict management skills, bullying, and self-advocacy. Lesson topics can change based on the needs of the grade level.

SMALL GROUPS
Groups are offered for students to strengthen their skills in various areas. Some sample groups include making friends, study habits/organization skills, time management, and decision-making Groups typically consist of 6-8 students and can last between 4-8 weeks.
* All small groups listed above may not be offered. Groups offered to students depend on student needs. Other groups, not listed here, may be offered.

Individual Counseling
Your school counselors are accessible to support all students and will implement a confidential environment. While school counselors can provide short term counseling, it may be appropriate for a student to receive a longer length of individual counseling. When more attention and intervention is required, your child's school counselor may help families to access additional support within the community.
Working With You
CONFIDENTIALITY
Creech Road students' and family's privacy is very important. All information shared with your child's school counselor will remain confidential unless…
* a student shares a plan to harm him/herself or someone else
* there is suspicion that a student may be a victim of abuse or neglect
In these situations, school counselors are required to report this information to parents and/or to appropriate agencies.
School counselors may share key factors of information with teachers/staff on a need to know basis, and the student and/or parent would be made aware. The shared information should remain confidential between all parties.
